EMSELLA®

EMSELLA uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to deliver electromagnetic energy deep into your pelvic floor. This energy stimulates motor neurons, triggering thousands of supramaximal muscle contractions that cannot be achieved voluntarily through Kegel exercises alone. These repeated contractions help re-educate and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles that support your bladder and control urination, as well as improve erectile dysfunction in men. Over a series of treatments, improved neuromuscular control may help reduce urinary leakage and enhance bladder control.

During EMSELLA, you remain fully clothed and sit in the treatment chair for approximately 30 minutes. Once you are positioned correctly, the chair delivers HIFEM energy to your pelvic floor. You may feel tingling and strong muscle contractions, but the treatment remains comfortable. A typical initial series includes six sessions scheduled about twice weekly.

After treatment, you can immediately return to work, exercise, and other normal activities because there is no downtime. Temporary pelvic floor muscle fatigue or soreness may occur. Some patients notice improvement after several sessions, with results developing progressively as the pelvic floor strengthens. Periodic maintenance treatments may be recommended to help preserve improvements in pelvic floor strength and bladder control over time.
